Seesaw

If your student is an At School Learner I just sent you an email invitation to Seesaw. We have begun using this is in class to practice skills that are listed in our IEPS and also just have fun. The kids really like it. I know they will enjoy being able to show you some their work!

If we should have to close school temporarily this is the program we will use for Lifeskills. I think with everyone getting used it now we could hopefully have an easy transition. I am kind of in the learning stage as well so please feel free to ask me any questions and we will get it figured out! 🙂

Week 3 August 24-28

We had a great week 2! Here are some pics from our egg “teeth” experiment. We found out brushing your teeth does get them clean and drinking water is better. We enjoyed squishing boiled eggs in our fingers although there was some confusion about baby chicks being inside!

.

We had fun with shaving cream to create a raincloud to go with our book When the Rain Came Down.

Finally, we ate apples look like healthy teeth!

For next week:

our sight words are:

He/ for /on /are /was

**We have all the supplies we need for next week! Thank you!!!

Every day there is a planner message that you can ask your student about. This is a good way to see what they can tell you about what we’re working on!

We are beginning a unit about Amusement Parks, in which we will study force and motion. This week  in math, we are working on addition, linear measurement, 3D shapes, graphs and number lines. I am making videos of our daily Storytime so they are available on my youtube channel if your student wants to watch! I hope you had a great weekend!

1st week!

We are having a great first week! Our group is so happy to be back together again! This week we are learning about our theme for this school year , which is Adventures Await! In Lifeskills we are taking a Safari Adventure! We are learning about different wild animals and parts of the world.

Our science/sensory experiment this week was Frozen Bugs! We froze some (plastic!) bugs and melted the ice using salt.

In cooking this week we are making “Jitter Juice” to go with our book, First Day Jitters!

Sight words:

Homework:
Daily reading book (in take home bag)

Next week:

We are continuing to study about Going on a Safari.

We are making “apple smiles” and “toothbrush eggs” to go with our book, The Day I Became a Pirate. We will see if the pirates had clean or dirty teeth by using toothpaste on boiled eggs that have been sitting in soda. The apple smiles snack looks like clean teeth.

Our sensory activity is a “Cloud Rainbow” to go with our book, The Day the Rain Came Down! Using shaving cream and food coloring we are going to make it “rain” in a jar.

Sight words:

You is that in it

Homework:
Daily reading book (in take home bag)
**Supplies needed:
5 small apples
peanut butter
mini marshmallows
**If you can send anything I am going to have it posted by the prior Friday (for the next week) and if you send it by Wednesday I’ll know that supply is covered. That way I can buy it on Thursday if needed. Thank you!!

WELCOME BACK!!

I’m so happy we are coming back to school! Here is all of my contact info if anyone needs it! I am also asking if I might have permission to video your student so that we can stay in touch with our friends who are taking class online this nine weeks. If you prefer no video I will make sure they are not shown!

I am going to post videos of our storytime and science cooking/experiments every week so stay tuned!

Please stay in touch and I can’t wait to see you all!
