week 8!

It’s week 8! We had lots of fun making green eggs!

This week we are wrapping up Government and Rules. We are learning about Fall and the News topic this week is the Krispy Kreme Donut store.

I am going to start putting the newspaper in Seesaw if you would like to do any extra reading with your student. It is picture supported and work we are doing in class so they should be very familiar. It would be a good way to help your student develop speaking vocabulary and comprehension about what we are doing in school.

Our sight words are: we, when, your, said, can. Everyone is doing a great job reading and spelling!

Supplies needed for our snack are : apples and cream cheese, cream of tartar, apple pie spice and paper plates (cheap white ones!)

We are going to make apple play dough this week to keep in our apple donut theme. We love different kinds of play dough! Have a great week!

Week 7!

This week we are learning more about government and different places that have rules. We had fun discussing an election and important leaders in our country. Our sight words for this week are: not, but, what, were, all. Our cooking project is Green Eggs and Ham! We have all the supplies needed for this week! Thanks for sending supplies last week. We had so much fun playing with the cornstarch mixture. We were not successful making it “dance” to show sound waves but our volume was limited :).

Don’t forget half day this Wednesday! I hope you have a great week!

week 6! September 14-18

Welcome to week 6! Picture day is this Thursday the 17th. Our class usually goes first thing in the morning. Also progress reports will go home this Thursday.

This week we are learning more about Rules (government). Our sight words are: or, words, had, by, one. In math we are practicing angles, coins, shapes and addition. Our sensory experiment is watching sound waves move and our cooking project is “energy balls” to go with our book Feathers for Lunch.

Supplies needed are: oats, honey, chocolate chips, and cornstarch. If you can, please send it by Wednesday so I can shop Thursday if needed.

Thank you!

week 5! September 7-11

I hope you all had a great Labor Day!

This week we are going to begin our study about rules and laws. We will talk about patriots and heroes that helped us on September 11. Our sight words are:have, this, be from, at. In math we will work on graphs, mass, fractions and perimeter. Our recipe is cupcakes, from our book If You Give a Cat a Cupcake.

Supplies needed: we’re all set for next week! Thank you!

We are all enjoying Seesaw! I hope you get a chance to see some of the great work your student is doing!
