Halloween is coming!

I’m sorry I missed a blog post last week! Here is a picture from carving pumpkins and roasting seeds. We also made pumpkin play dough. It was pretty sticky so it got mixed reviews.

This week is Red Ribbon Week. Here is the schedule of what to wear if you participate:

  • Monday: red
  • Tuesday: red white and blue
  • Wednesday: Team jersey* 1/2 day*
  • Thursday: wear a hat
  • Friday: storybook character (there won’t be a parade this year but our class can dress up!).

This week we are studying about the 2020 Election and Halloween. We are making an edible sensory bin with Oreo “dirt” and “scary pudding”.  We are learning how force and motion created different types of rocks and doing a rock experiment with Starburst candies. Supplies needed are: 2 packs of Oreos, pumpkin candies and starburst. Our sight words are: many, them, then, these, so.

I hope you have a great week!

In math we are continuing to work on place value, area and time. We are making spider webs out of tiny marshmallows and in cooking we are going to make rice crispie treats. Supplies we need are: Rice Crispies.

We are off next Monday! I hope you have a great week!

Week 9! Animal stories!

We had fun with apple play dough! We practiced learning that New York is “the big apple”! We are so excited that it’s finally October! Ask your student how to spell it!

This week we are going to learn about different animal stories in the news. Don’t forget the “news” is in Seesaw to read with your student! Our sensory activity is frozen blueberries, because this is a favorite snack of gorillas!

Our recipe is “bear paws”. The supplies we need are: graham crackers and reeses cups. Thank you for sending supplies last week!

Our sight words are: which, us, an, there, each. In math, we are working on skip counting, shapes, and graphing. Have a great week 9!
