I apologize for being out yesterday! I am feeling much better! We are reading Duck for President! I know Hovan can tell us about our current President, Donald Trump! We are going to look at the vocabulary words from the book and the letters they start with. I hope you have a great Wednesday!
I’m sorry I’m going to have to call it a sick day. I have a migraine and cannot read today. Please tell the kids will be back tomorrow! If you have not turned in any proof of work for distance learning please send me a picture of work so that you can get a participation grade to move up next year.
This is one of our favorite books, A Case of the Stripes! Camilla loves lima beans, so we are going to learn the life cycle of a lima bean. There is also a color by number picture of Camilla with her stripes! What is your favorite food?
Today we are reading Feathers for Lunch and we are practicing finding nouns and pronouns with Angry Birds! As you can see I modified this to matching. Parts of speech is a little difficult but will get easier as we practice!
We are also making a fun easy snack, “energy balls”. If you did not make a bird feeder with your science lesson in the last few weeks here are the instructions. I made you a little video of the birds I see in my yard! I hope you enjoy all of the activities today and have a great weekend!
Energy Balls Recipe:
1 cup instant oats
2/3 cup coconut
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup honey
Stir together and form into golf-size balls. This is a great sensory time! Its pretty gooey! You can eat them now or they will firm up after about an hour in the fridge. Usually a big hit in class!
It’s Thursday! Today we are reading a new book, Coyotes All Around, and counting by tens. We try to practice this at different times throughout the day and we are pretty good! You can see I modified the worksheet to matching if your student cannot do it independently. Tomorrow we are cooking again! Have a great day!
Today we are back to Little Critter and we are going to practice answering questions that start with “wh”. This is a speech goal for several of our students. It involves using language for simple comprehension questions. I hope you have a great Wednesday!
Today we are reading Where’s My Teddy? by Jez Alborough. We are going to practice matching animal coverings with our worksheet. This helps us begin to learn about different classifications of animals. I want to see a picture of your teddy bear! Have a great Monday!
I would like to say how truly sad I am that we are not coming back to school. I will have most of your kids next year, but my heart is missing them right now. We will continue to have class online through May 20 and meals will also continue to be delivered.
